Well, I have been in Florida for almost 6 weeks now and here is what I have to report . . .
- I have yet to see an alligator. Are they just a myth?
- I have seen many hurricanes. They are definitely not a myth.
- SEC fans are the craziest (or some might say dedicated) fans I have ever met.
- It is always humid.
- I never knew there could be so many lizards.
- palm trees are. . . . nice
- I love being 5 minutes from the nearest Chick-Fil-A!!!
- Waffle Houses are still awesome!! (But people down here hate them)
- Dirt roads are really sand roads.
- People drive better here than in Michigan.
- Floridians have no concept of what cold weather is really like. ; )
- What the heck are boiled peanuts! Torture, that is what they are!
- The sweet tea flows like honey and I love it.
- Most Floridians order unsweet tea. huh?
- Grits are awesome
- Still have not seen an alligator
- Rain and sun really do go hand in hand down here.
- Sunsets are still awesome!!
- You can always find amazing people no matter where you go.
- I think I am going to love the winters!
Till next time,
Derrak

Try Myakka River State Park East of Sarasota for Alligators. We are ithere November-February. They are ALWAYS there. They don’t like cold weather or wind. So a nice hot day is the best time. Go to the bridge about a mile from the park entrance, park at one end or the other. If it is warm and no wind, You will see one. You may have to wait to see one surface (if they are not floatng or laying on the shore. Take binoculars, sometimes those “branches” are alligators.

Hello Ostovic’s!
right, so I’m feelin a little foolish - the last time I was in OH, Mr. Bottger gave me your info… which I carefully carried around in my purse for about two months - to remind me to call you. Of course I have no idea where it is now, but gotta love google, cuz I found you when I started looking.
…And WOW, you guys have a beautiful family! Crazy how time flies! I’m now in NC and loving the winters too (especially after 4 years in Alaska). I’d love to catch up and hear how you’ve been!
btw, Carolina vs Duke rivalry makes everything else look like kid stuff… (ACC over SEC any time…. Okay, so maybe just in basketball…=)
