- REALLY?
In my last post I asked about the main message of the movie the Moulin Rouge . . . “The greatest thing, you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”
Tonight Melanie and I found out that a married couple in our neighborhood whom we have become friends with are seperated. As I type Melanie is on their porch talking to her. We ran into him at a local resautrant earlier this evening. What the heck is God doing? And this on top if the fact that my best friend has recently filed for a divorce, and is really scaring me with a suicidal statement he said recently. He needs help. They need help. my neighbors need help. Hell, i need help!
Is it true that “love lifts us up where we belong” and ” All we need is love”?
I have begun to have confirmed what I have always thought. Love is not enough. A lot of times it does not always lift us up where we belong and many terrible things are done in the name of love. In fact humanity has trashed this word. I mean lets me honest, some times . . .really many times marriage does not feel like love. It is messy, and not fun some times. Sometimes I wonder what is God doing. Do you?
I guess in the end I have to believe in the message of Moulin Rouge. “The greatest thing we will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return.” It is messy, and not good sometimes. It is ugly and hard, and exhausting, and frustraiting, and so much more. BUT it is also beautiful and hopefull and amazing beyond words. In the end, to truely love, and truely be loved in return is the greatest thing we can learn. But, it will not happen here on earth. I have searched all over and I have only found it in one person. Jesus.
