friendship and other stuff

Well, life has a way of really getting tough doesn’t it?

Friendship:

The most challenging part of the past two weeks was a reminder that great friendships muscle up to hard times, and that is exactly what I have experienced with two very close friendships this past week. The saying goes, “good fences make good neighbors”. Well, no offense to that great poet, but what really makes good friends is trying times that test the roots of friendship. I have found this to be so true and now it is confirmed once again. You know, I am so glad to have friends (not to mention my wife) that speak love and honesty into my life. I know that they will tell me how it is and always love me no matter what. And lets face it, we all need friends like that. I think we are pleased way too easily with shallow friendships. We have forgotten how to make good friends, and even worse what a good friendship is all about. This ties directly with how our culture understands marriage too. IT IS NOT ALL A HONEYMOON. Our marriages are not and our friendships are not. They should not be.

The Baby:

this past friday Melanie went for her 4 month checkup. I cannot believe that we are almost 1/2 of the way through this thing. She is still feeling sick, but over all is better and has not thrown up in a few weeks. We are still undecided on a name, but she is still decidedly set on the fact that it is a girl. Again I do not know how she can tell, but you can place your own vote below and last time I checked “boy” had come from behind and is now pulling ahead.

Do you know how when you find out someone is pregnant, you think, “oh I hope they have a girl” or vice versa? I wonder what people think of us?

The biggest news is that, baby willing, we will be finding out the sex of our baby on October 1st around 8:30AM!!!!! LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN.

Anyway, again we would love to hear your comments. What do you think about the events and links section? We LOVE comments about anything. AND, You can post a comment without becoming a member, just do it anonymously, but don’t forget to put your name at the end of your comment.

well that is all for now.

DONT FORGET TO VOTE ON WHAT YOU THINK THE SEX WILL BE. You have less than a month to cast your vote.

What do we win if we’re right on the gender?
